THAT JLO GLOW! I just want to bottle Jennifer Lopez’s glow and spray it on myself. But for technical reasons (and probably legal) I will stick to using makeup. Getting a nice glow is achieved by ‘highlighting’ or what is sometimes referred to as ‘strobing’. Highlighting can be done with creams, liquids, or powders. Powders work well on oily skin types while creams and liquids work best on those with dry skin. For an extra glow, a powder highlighter can be layered on top of a cream/liquid. As a cardinal rule, lighter colours catch light making an area appear larger, while darker colours absorb light, receding an area. Keep this rule in mind when choosing where to highlight your face. Great places to highlight include the cheekbone, the brow bone and the cupid’s bow. When highlighted, these key places give a beautiful glow to the face, adding dimension and visual interest. Play with different products, experiment with different textures and have fun finding what works for you!
